How we got started here at Rural Stonework & Landscapes
"I began trading as Rural Stonework 25 years ago. As with many businesses of this nature, I started out working alone - taking on small, local jobs which included everything stonework-related, from restoring barns to installing feature fireplaces.
I soon learnt that my passion for stonework lay in building beautiful gardens, and I began to undertake more projects of this nature, with increasing size and complexity. As Rural Stonework's reputation developed, the team of tradesmen expanded in number, to meet the growing demand. It all happened very organically, which suited the business as the high quality of workmanship was maintained.
25 years on, and with the assistance of my wife, Rebekah, we now operate as Rural Stonework & Landscapes. Our ethos remains the same - and that is one of quality of workmanship and attention to detail.

We have worked with Korean designer Jihae Hwang as part of a winning team at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show, walking away with not only a Gold Medal but also the Best in Category. We were tasked with building the stonewall structure and hard landscaping of the 16 by 13ft garden, which had wild flower planting and a path leading up to a small wooden building.
